I'd like think that funding has some effect on how bias a tv channel is. Many american tv-channels seem, to me as an outsider, to have a fairly well defined political agenda or at least orientation. I'd be surprised if that agenda wasn't affected by who buys advertisement time or who is on the board etc.

Q; Would you say that there are any politically neutral channels in the US, if so which, if not is one needed?

In the rest of the world that's called corruption, in the US it's called a campaign contribution. There's your problem.

Hi!

I'm a chemical process engineer and I've worked with the waste incineration plant in Malmö as a consultant. Not with the flue gas cleaning though. The flue gas goes through a whole range of purification process, among them a catalytic cleaning (similar to a cars catalyst but at a lower temperature, an electrofilter etc. Basically there is nothing done to those flue gases that couldn't be done at a coal or oil fired power plant. The composition of the fuel is of course different and less homogenous than coal but will often contain less sulphur. The temperature at which the fuel burns will also affect the composition of the flue gases to some extent but as I said, oil or coal can be made just as clean but it might not be economical. As I wrote in a previous post, environmental laws are very strict in Sweden so the money would have to be spent regardless of the choice of fuel. This waste incineration business really took of when putting combustible waste in landfills was made illegal.

Err... I didn't stick to your list cause I'm on the bus on my way home from work with limited time and also I can't follow instructions so...
