My dad passed from cancer last year. I think he generally preferred when we just acted normal around him. I would really recommend spending as much time with him as you conveniently can. Definitely go with him to his doctors appointments, ask his doctors about his illness. He may feel very confused about what is happening, his medicine and treatment options, his prognosis, etc. My dad usually after each doctors appointment had some questions about things he hadn't understood or the significance or implication of something the doctor said. You are also better equipped to research his disease to know what questions to ask, etc., especially if he is an older man. If he feels you are involved in the process and spend significant amounts of time with him he will feel more comfortable to talk to you about his disease when he wants to. If you aren't involved he might feel he is bothering you by talking about it, or think that you don't want to be involved.

Not to mention the language barrier. How would you communicate anything to anyone? You're completely alone in an alien country where nobody cares about you or can communicate with you. In a cruel twist of fate your captor is your only source of safety.

3)You were very confident that Hamas was not involved and showed "great restraint" during the recent massacre of the Gazans by Israel. What sources do you use that allows you to know this? What are good sources in general on the issue?

I find this an extremely untenable position to hold when Hamas themselves proclaim that 50 out of the 62 killed were their men.

For the lazy: the study concludes that all 3 commercial yogurts tested have enough active cultures to be beneficial. In fact, they have so much activity that you only need 0.1 to 0.3 grams to have a beneficial effect, and typical serving sizes are on the order of one thousand times larger, so the effect is indeed very significant even with store-bought yogurt.

In fact, they also compared it to home-made yogurt, which did have more active cultures, but only twice as much as the two of the better commercial yogurts.

Tl;dr: store-bought yogurt was found in this study to be almost as good as home-made yogurt in terms of active cultures.
