I have a trucker friend, and he says he hasn't seen too many lot lizards though he has had one interesting encounter with one. Would you say that they are common or uncommon? Any region/type of venue that seems more or less tolerant of them?

Good question! He actually hasn't been trucking all that long, which I guess must be why he's only seen one. Im not exactly sure when he started, but I think it was around last august or sept, so he's been driving for the better part of his short career in somewhat colder months and a lot of time up north and such, but also in the southeast and out west.

I would think that independents would have more lot lizards just due to less regimentation and regulation compared to like flying J type places.

I wonder if lot lizards were more common earlier in your dads career than they are today? It always seems like our society is becoming more regulated over time, so I would think that more regulations may have come to the industry and truck stops etc over the decades. I'm def no expert though, just an interested observer, and someone who loves a good package/other goods which all come in trucks.
