Who rules on these bills? Is it a senate/house committee or judge? This seems like something you could sue all the way up to the supreme court for unreasonable search type of deal.

Why do people like you misreport and deliberately attempt to create a bullshit bias against normal police officers? It's ridiculous. Most police shootings, vast majority, are justified, but publishers such as the guardian, BBC or CNN try to make it look like all police officers and all police shootings were done by bloodthirsty white males with personal vendettas against black people. No one seems to care that more white people are killed by police than blacks per year. Sure the population is higher, however, look at the % of people that are committing the crimes and also the likelihood they resist arrest.

You need far more than a few hundred thousand to retire comfortably in your 30's.

Yeah I'm sitting here reading this AMA wondering what this dude thinks he's getting into. Horses are quite a bit different than biking or walking, and require much more specific knowledge and years of experience than either. Being generally fit isn't enough to ride horses that many miles, you need to be an extremely skilled and experienced horseman that can diagnose and treat any injuries and problems on the go. The only way this should be remotely acceptable(with his level of experience) is if there are multiple skilled and experienced guides/farriers/vets taking him along.

I wonder if he's watched Unbranded, a similarly long journey through less harsh terrain using more horses and regular access to supplies/civilization/replacement horses/skilled peoples. Those 4 friends with substantially more equine experience than these 2 struggled even with access to all of the above. This whole thing just reeks of bad idea that will result in seriously injured horses and potentially death for the horses or the people.

My personal opinion on this(I know I'm not him and I'm not trying to argue it), is that prison forces you to reform. You can have a probation officer to force you to go to rehab meetings, but you can still go out and get alcohol. You are far more likely to relapse when you don't have a period without access to the abused substance. This more than anything is why I support prison for DUI manslaughter/bodily injury. You are forced to remain sober for the duration of your sentence, and this I feel would contribute more towards reducing DUI than probation enforced rehabilitation programs.

I do recognize that many people can do without prison, I just view these as outliers, and I don't think it is logical to base laws and sentencing around an outlier. I also recognize that what I stated is an opinion, and that there can be multiple solutions.
