I talked with the band about what we thought would epitomize the idea of the video - young and unafraid. We all grew up on skateboarding (my brother Will Thomas who DP'd the video is an amazing skater himself - and a huge Rodney Mullen fan). We shot a bunch of different amazing skaters for this video over a year ago (some amazzzzing DC skaters including Zack Miller and Gilles Canty), but when I saw Neal Unger online, I knew he had to star. I reached out, and after he watched my film Electrick Children, he agreed to star in the video.

Hopefully somewhere in late summer and fall, but we're really not sure yet. We want to get it out soon though!

We worked with three different producers on the new album, Peter Katis, Nate Pyfer and Tony Hoffer. Originally we started the album with Katis and later worked on a few more tracks for the album with Pyfer and Hoffer. Hopefully the album will be out late this summer but we're still waiting to see how things go with our single and see what the label thinks. Hopefully soon!

We wanted to keep it simple since the song has such a strong hook. I reworked the edit a number of time, and resisted using any other footage we had beyond Neal. I wanted the cut to have a simple narrative -- a man falling and then getting back up. The getting back up is what makes him fearless and keeps him young.

I love editing and playing with slow motion and reverse motion. I agonized over each frame, constantly trimming and reworking the footage. We shot on a simple Canon 5D and my brother Will Thomas was my DP. He is an amazing skater and shot much of it riding on a skateboard himself (he roughed up his knee pretty good in the process)

I'm so glad you liked it!
