If I were a girl your age I would feel you'd earned a good boob touch for that answer.

They're not for soda specifically. It's like a prepaid debit card that they can spend on basically any food item (except alcohol) purchased from any kind of store. (No restaurants or fast food when I had one.)

Edit: Food stamps used to be actual stamps, now they're cards.

I strongly feel that The Burbs is under appreciated comedy gold. I've always felt this way and I'm totally overjoyed that I get to tell you about it.

Yes! This happened to me. When I was an unemployed recovering alcoholic living with my dad, I had a card and then lost it when I went to school. They told me I need to work more than 20 hours a week. But I was attending a beauty school which is basically like a job because you're there, working (for free) in a fully functioning salon from 9-5 every day. Then I had an actual job that I went to on Friday after school until ten PM and on Sat and Sunday. It would have been almost impossible for me to work more. It was ridiculous.
