Which I understand was students taking on tons of student debt (like med students) and then immediately declaring bankruptcy once they graduated to avoid repaying it, since going without credit for 7 years made more economic sense to them.
This is exactly why student loans are not dis chargeable.

Banks did not go to people. People went to the banks. It is almost like saying Walmart forced me into their store! Banks played their roll and took their blame. But I am afraid people have not taken their fair share of the blame.

I know the feeling. Its not like we have tons of extra money. I make 120k my wife makes 30k with two mid range cars. I just dont get how people can afford such large houses.

Honestly I still don't get it. I watch those shows like My First House etc and I see newly weds who are teachers who make maybe a combined 130k buying 600k houses. My wife and I make 150k and I own a 300k home. I just don't see how people can afford it.

Because people were greedy too. Dont pass all the blame on the banks. People knew they could not afford these loans, or they were too dumb. Either way it was peoples fault in many cases.
