So glad things are going well for you after your transplant :) how much notice did you have you were going to be transplanted? Like how long were you on 'the list'?

One of the reasons is that if you donate stem cells via blood they have to give you a drug called G-CSF to lure the stem cells out from the bone marrow and into the blood. While it is thought to be safe they don't really know the consequences of repeated exposure so they want to keep it to a minimum. Actually don't know if you are also given that drug prior to bone marrow donation also.
