Most of your articles highlighting employee abuse in the game industry focus on individuals at different companies who have enacted and supported these policies, but never on the economic pressures which cause these practices to be so widespread they're essentially universal. Doesn't focusing the blame on the individuals leave the core issue unaddressed? Do you think you can ever out enough single offenders to actually make a noticable impact on the industry?

Disney officially listed KOTOR and the Old Republic Era as non-canon, so given their current strategy with their games, it's unlikely. A damn shame if you ask me. I liked Kotor better than the rest of star wars, period.

Also, Swtor was very successful in MMO terms. It was a massive project and if i'm not mistaken still holds the record for most lines of recorded dialog, outstripping tv shows like the Simpsons that have been on for over a decade. If anything, the success of Swtor would contribute to the demand for a Kotor 3. However, it's still unlikely as Disney retconned that section of star wars.

First off, I think it's pretty ballsy that you'd address this at all, horrific shit storm that it was at the time. I still remember being completely stunned at the level of anger and the flat out insanity of some of the reactions to the ending. Death threats are not an appropriate response, ever.

That said, I'll be the voice of the internet minority and say that I loved the ending. It beautifully set up the series to continue onward without shepard, and finally explained for me what the hell the reapers were doing the whole time. I loved the idea that the whole milky way was essentially an elaborate stealth prison designed to keep biological life trapped in one place where it could be easily monitored and controlled. And past that, I loved the idea that the Catalyst was almost like a mad scientist, running his reaper war experiment again and again and again, trying to find that one data set that worked. And he did! The council races made the cut, finally. And now we get to see what life in the Milky way looks like without the prison system in place. How far out will the council expand? We're starting in Andromeda, but we all know it's not going to end there. And I can't wait to see what comes next, which to me is exactly what an ending for a game should do.

So bravo sir! Thanks for all the phenomenal and genre defining experiences you've given me! From Jade Empire, to Kotor, to Swtor, to my beloved Mass Effect. I was sad to see you leave the industry, but I don't think anyone could blame you. Working in the game industry is so often a brutal and soul crushing experience. I hope your experience with Kickstarter hasn't soured you to the concept, because I think you could do great things in the crowd funding world, outside the relentless meat grinder that is the AAA industry. Good luck in all your projects and thanks again for the truly unique and fantastic experiences.

I thought one of the most unique and interesting elements of DAI was the concept of roleplaying the Inquisition, as an organization, itself. Your choices steered the general feeling behind the inquisition and how it was perceived. Did you see anything similar to this in MEA?
