Why is it that when I send a hyperlink to a coworker in a Lync chat it works just fine but if I send one to several coworkers at once in a group chat all they see is a blank message?

Nick I am making some drink coasters as Christmas gifts but can't decide what to finish them with. They're maple/black walnut with a mahogany racing stripe. I plan on adding cork feet to the bottoms but can't seem to find a solid answer on whether I should go with a finish that will completely block water absorption (causing them to stick to the glass) or an oil finish(will be susceptible to heat damage). What would you suggest?

P.S. Good Clean Fun is amazing. I especially love the profiles of other woodworkers. I'm only an hour away from New Hope, so I'm going to try and make a pilgrimage to the Nakashima workshop soon.
