BHO has the possibility of leaving trace amounts of *butane and that makes me uncomfortable using it in edibles. BHO might be more unhealthy as you do have chance to directly breathe in butane fumes. CO2 extraction inherently seems safer as the only thing you might inhale or consume from the manufacturing process is CO2
