Assuming one was financially responsible, would the lump sum always work out better?

Thank you for taking the time to do this. I am a UX researcher in the corporate world. Technically proficient but not a true developer.

Would you say it's feasible as an individual to develop detailed design documentation on the mechanics of a game and then essentially outsource the development to a third party?

I guess I'm trying to brainstorm how a "normal" person with a normal job and not all the requisite programming skills could realistically go from a design to an actual finished game.

Thank you again!

Not sure if you're trolling or not but are you seriously asking how they're going to support dairy farmers who may go out of business because of this?

Thank you for the excellent point. From the input I've gotten it sounds like I either have to ramp up my programming skills or find someone local that I can work with. Fortunately I am in New York, there are definitely app developers in the area.

Alternatively I'm wondering if I could leverage a platform like Clickteam or similar that could export a mobile or web app. Ultimately I want to get bogged down in the programming side as little as possible and focus my energy on the "fun" stuff like balancing, interface, mechanics, etc.
