I've been in IT for a long, long time and I've seen messes all over the map. One of the problems stems from systems analysis and design. Most companies overlook the need for this and they end up "code locked" in a system that becomes a monster.

I'm guessing the VA has a bunch of old systems and code and a high turnover. A code base that old and patched together. I've seen companies fail because they get "code locked" and have to pay to keep the old code alive and build a new system.

Part of the problem is that nobody wants to jump into the "sewer" of the old code and fix it when there's so many better jobs out there.

Q. in a nutshell, is this the problem?

Q. is there a way to give a general overview of the primary problems in a few lines?

Q. Will we ever see a real breakdown analysis of what happened? Some (like me) love to read failure analysis of projects like this.

Glad you came out, I haven't heard about this from the Amish but I think we've all heard from others.

Is this wide spread in the Amish community or was this pretty rare?

IMO it's seems pretty common whenever one person has power over another.

What's your stack (engine, language, etc...)

What's your code reuse %? We're all taught that code reuse is king, but how much is actually reused in the real world from one game to another game?

I used to hit very, very high percentages, but that was custom business software.

Does AI scare you? I'm a programmer and have been doing some AI and it seems to be a real game changer. I was blown away when AI beat professional poker players. I didn't think it could do that.

Is your newsletter INTELLIGENCE (1987-2017) done? Just checked, looks like it's over.

Glad to hear you recovered well, hate to see people busted for things like that. Even if you made it, you probably wouldn't have harmed anyone.

So what was your sentence and how much time did you actually end up serving?
