I get what you're saying but the world can't just sit and watch military takeovers take place. To do nothing is to implicitly accept that military annexation is acceptable. Russia absolutely should be sanctioned economically. A price must be paid for such actions. Military intervention by the US or any other third party would be insanity, however. At least while Crimeans by and large aren't asking for direct intervention.
