This makes my blood boil! My SO's youth savings account was totally emptied by his mother - Through the years he had put money in there from birthdays, Christmases and such and expected to have a really nice amount in there to help him during his college years. When he turned 18 and had access to it he saw nothing. He moved out and hasn't really spoken to his parents since. What has happened to you is even worse. My SO could forget about it all because it was just lost money. You have to pick up all the pieces and fix this. That bad credit will haunt you into your future and your family owes you more than a simple apology and some empty promises. You need to rise up and get angry. Nobody needs jewelry or fancy phones or expensive fashion items. Their excuses are bullshit.

It's very unfortunate this needed to happen, but on the brighter side your friend and yourself have just ensured that future cases of assisted suicide will gain the appropriate reaction so nobody needs to go through that added pain and trouble.
