Professor Knight, thanks for doing an AMA! I graduated from MCDB last May and I greatly enjoyed following your research throughout college. With that said, here's my question: being as through autistic individuals clearly display different microbiota than individuals without the condition, do you think fecal transplant will be a viable solution to combat progression of autism in the foreseeable future?

Do you think the relationship between individuals and their gut microbiome is symbiotic? Or, is it more likely that our microbe populations are simply caused by our way of life and adjust accordingly?

How do you feel about engineered blight-resistant potatoes?
