My apnea was really bad, and I tried all kinds of drugs with no effect. I also had two other surgeries (displaced septum and enlarged sinus openings) which did nothing except hurt like hell.

About 2 weeks after the uvulectomy (which was done with a laser in about 10 mins, no stitches) I slept through the night without apnea for the first time.

Subsequently had the floppy palate (maybe they always go together) removed, and I'm even better. Also, my wife can now sleep in the same room as me without my snoring driving her up the wall.

Definitely worth it.
