I'm baffled at the logic being used here. Illegal immigrants are an absolute burden on our country - period. My father is a legal immigrant from Chile who took busses all the way up the coast of S.A, into Mexico where he applied to immigrate. He worked very hard and ended up going to medical school while in the states. He feels ashamed and taken advantage of knowing he could have just snuck into the country, and not wasted six years of his life working less than minimum wage jobs in mexico, eating terribly and living in a shack with no electricity while waiting for his immigration status to clear. Not to mention a life without taxes.. "free" (for them) education and health care It's terrible and anyone who defends illigal immigrants in this country need to think about all the legal immigrants who spent a lot of time and money to secure themselves legally in our country. Legal immigrants who've paid their taxes, contributed to our country - not taken advantage of it, and in tandem you and me. My dad got his citizenship six years ago, up until then he didn't even have a middle name.
