Scientists have put out studies on both sides. Blindly calling the opposing side 'fantasy' is exactly the point I was making.

I wouldn't call it wasting your time. If you read the arguments on the other side, you can find the errors in their science and have an intelligent conversation with someone, maybe even convince them.

We need to start having civil conversations about it. Don't just call people 'deniers' or ridicule them for believing climate change is real. Listen to what they have to say. Read the studies. Read studies that don't support your viewpoint. And talk about it with people that don't agree. Formulate well thought out arguments and listen to the what the other person has to say. That's how you're going to move away from the politicization of the argument. There are too many people, on both sides, who blindly believe their viewpoint.

On a side note, those One-Percenters out there who buy carbon offsets to mitigate their carbon footprint should be buying more carbon offsets than they use. If enough of the wealthy did this, wouldn't it just fix the problem and render the whole argument moot?

Whitney, what is your favorite horror movie?

"The total lack of evidence of the deniers has been commonly known for years."

Cite evidence please. Doing otherwise makes you sound like the people you are talking about.

How do you deal with people that you don't agree with? These people vote, shape policy. You can't just get rid of them. What do you suggest?
