The Indian position is, in essence, that the ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Hindus by Kashmiri Muslims and the mass rapes of their women proves that there’s no such thing as a Kashmiri people. Thus it directly affects the argument that Kashmiris are a nation that wants to live together.Also, What guarantee do non Muslims in Kashmir have that they will not meet the fate of the Yazidis under ISIS, or the Christians in Iraq?

You will forgive me for saying this but the record of Muslim majority nations at treating their non Muslim citizens is not exactly admirable.
