You should check out OP's videos, one of them addresses your question really well. I'm gonna paraphrase, but the problem is basically the "culture" of divorce that many lawyers are caught up in rather than some sort of conspiratorial secret pact between them. My parents divorce dragged on for several years and ended up costing them over $100,000 (it ended in 2009) and both of their attorney's said that it was "one of the worst" they had ever seen, but both of my parents claimed that they were following the advice of their attorneys. I don't know what to make of any of it, but do attorneys profit off of these sorts of divorces more than they would off of a quicker and less "nasty" divorce?
