Not to downplay the success and clout Make A Wish has garnered over the years, but they don't have anything on this organization, from my perspective.
Streetlight has longevity to its program. Its outreach is not a one-off deal. That's probably the biggest difference summed up in the simplest way. I could go on for paragraphs as to why this connection is so important and so genuinely different than granting a single wish, but I think you're smart enough to grasp the significance yourself.
In all honesty, if people were to use Make A Wish after experiencing Streetlight, most of them would probably wish "that none of the Streelight volunteers ever graduate UF" because they're all incredible people and would want them to stick around.
I go to another big school in Florida and have met a few people from Streetlight. I miiiight be a tad jealous.
I really want a program like it at my school, to say the least. Any school. PleasegiveStreetlightmoney
