Hi Ken, I'm a huge fan of Neural Networks and other types of machine learning. I fancy myself an amateur ML programmer, and have tons of fun with the things it allows me to create. My question for you has to do with your recent work about innovation and the problems caused by pursuing objectives directly.

Do you think the inability to find a unification theory is a result of this process? I have often wondered if our inability to find explanations for natural processes (like the problem of dark matter for instance) is a result of the same type of phenomena that we see when we try to train complicated neural networks, such as overfitting. Sorry if I have not explained my question enough.
