There's a massive number of tech savvy people worldwide who tinker with highly affordable technology. Even if the most affordable development environment from IBM is in the low thousands, it's sill too expensive for the majority of the tech tinkerers. Unfortunately, many of these people contribute to the development of languages, tools, and frameworks... for fun! This work greatly progresses the software and environments of these affordable technologies. Does IBM ever talk about this community internally and whether the z systems platform would benefit from having a significantly larger community?

What's are the best ways for independent software vendors to get answers to z/OS related questions that can't be answered by reading IBM docs?

If a "Quarterly On Day" value (without an "In Month" value) is specified and exceeds the number of days in the current quarter, will the last day of the quarter be used? (i.e. is it similar to the behavior for month). Same question for Yearly On Day.

Those kinds of questions. Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion. I installed it, but it doesn't look like it has assembler syntax highlighting/parsing.

Do you have any plans to market a lighter-weight (cheaper) version of RDz that's just for assembler development? Or maybe an a-la-carte RDz? I can't justify the cost (~$4000) knowing that a ton of the features aren't for me (e.g. COBOL, zUnit, etc). How much $ for just the syntax highlighting and control-click to DSECTS? :)
