Hi Margaret! Big fan. I love your interactions with Rob Delaney on twitter. Anyways, I've only read Oryx and Crake by you, but it's one of my favorite novels, which is saying a lot because I'm generally not a fan of dystopian/post-apocalyptic fiction. My question is did writing about such horrible subjects (sex trafficking) have any effect on effect on you? I ask specifically because you write about such disturbing things in a especially eloquent way.

One time a guy working a bank-a-ball game tossed a ball at me and then told me not to toss it back cause I could break his arm. I tossed it back and he got "mad" at me. Is that a common tactic?

That's interesting. You guys got it down to a science. One more question though. Did your carnival have a dunking booth, and if you did, was it fun to be the guy? Cause the fair I went to had one and the guy in it was incredibly obnoxious, which I guess meant that he was doing his job.

I was standing in a long line ride next to a booth and he was getting brutal. It was pretty funny cause he got dunked multiple times and never even acknowledged it.
