Dude if you were winning trips to the Bahamas and Jamaica that means you were a top guy... you should've been making at least double $70k/yr.

Top guys make well into the 6 figures. If you were being paid right maybe you would've had a different attitude about the job and it would've been worth all the BS :)

Actually sounds a lot like the situation I'm currently in. But I'm actually making 6 figures (barely) so every time I think about finding something else I realize how fucked the job market is. I have friends with degrees (which I have) showing up to interviews against dozens of other people... All for a lousy $15/hr job. It's really really hard to find an enjoyable job that pays more than $50k :/

I'm thinking about making the switch to solar or real estate.

As for your position I think you were just at the wrong dealership. I was at a low volume / high gross store that would bitch at invoice deals, so I switched to a high volume store and they get excited about invoice deals! "What we get to keep the holdback!? Good job! Go get another one!"

I get the same $200 minis you got but with big bonuses at 15/20/25/30 units. So my pay plan is geared towards volume.

In my mind, for how much BS we put up with in this business, too guys should ALWAYS make 6 figures, if not then the pay plan is wrong or the dealership just sucks :(
