That doesn't really make sense though. Because someone can function well does not mean they do not have autism in some form. That's like saying someone cannot have the flu if they still go to work.

How often does it happen that people are incorrectly diagnosed? Is there any information on this?

Do you think people are being over diagnosed with ASD's now? It seems that the number of people with Asperger's syndrome has skyrocketed. I was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, and I don't believe it.
