Secretary Foxx, I am hoping you actually give us your attention and answer these questions as you work for us, the American taxpayers. I am a 2013 Graduate of Purdue University’s aviation program that had Collegiate Training Initiative accreditation. It was my dream to become an FAA air traffic control specialist since I was a young aviation geek in elementary school. I dedicated myself to career prep that was in place. I moved 1,000 miles from my home town to make sure I was in one of the best CTI programs. I also had an internship at one of the busiest general aviation ATCT facilities when I had just turned 18. On April 22, 2013 in my junior year at Purdue I took the AT-SAT in Indianapolis and got a score of 91.2. I thought that was a very good score and did better than many others who took it. At the end of 2013 the CTI programs were informed that the FAA was revolutionizing how hiring world go, and students were having to grasp this new reality. I have had dozens of hardworking classmates fall short of the new standards that came with the “biographical questionnaire”. The BioQ was a test that myself and 90% plus of test takers failed for unknown and unexplained reasons at the first new application opportunity. What do you have to say to the thousands of dedicated former CTI students who are now looking from the outside in at your flawed hiring system?
