Former DD employee here as well. Probably is against company policy, but we otherwise threw out leftover donuts at the end of the night so taking some home wasn't a big deal in my managers eyes.

Wait they did away with tips? I lived off those tips in HS cause the paycheck was worthless

Additionally, the hot coffee is turned over at least once an hour. The iced coffee on the other hand is only turned over when it runs out, or at closing time.

This makes me sad

Former DD employee here. At least where I worked there was one DD that supplied all the other DDs in the area with donuts for the day. Donuts had to be ordered ahead of time by management. We had to log the amount we started with and ended with every day so they could track which ones to order, theoretically(at least at my location they never learned).

When I went off to college I worked at the local DD to make some weekend money. It was a pretty isolated location so they made their own donuts but didn't supply any other stores (closest DD to that one was ~30min drive away). If you want to know about how donuts were made 4 years ago I could touch on that but I won't ruin it for you if you don't want me to.
