Funny enough, the Afrika Korps had one of the nicest track records of WWII, so much they were reported to have friendly exchanges with British troops. It's largely due to Rommel openly defying Hitler's genocidal orders, which unfortunately would be one of the reasons he'd be forced to kill himself later on, after he was found to be involved in an assassination plot against Hitler.
