As someone who is still somewhat scared to fly, how much unnecessary worrying am I doing? I put these insane scenarios in my head during takeoff, in-flight, and during landing (until I put my economics/statistics degree to use to remember the odds).

As a TA, I agree. Maybe if I get to know one of the students (i.e. office hours, etc.) or if they happen to write a really great and really horrible essay that would be memorable. Otherwise, I don't know how I'd have any idea.
