My question came from having read an article posted in r/psychology where a Stanford professor argues along the lines of the people who really need help are the ones who should be getting therapy, so just wanted other’s opinions here too :)

Understood, I took it as I should really be considering that if I don’t have one of the significant issues mentioned then I should question whether I should even bother going so as to not contribute to the problem. But I also see now that it’s more about the therapists exploiting it then and not me (not wealthy, just conscious of contributing to problems).

How do you know if your problems are “worth it”? What is considered not really good enough of a reason for therapy?
