Real world special forces, and soldiers in general, train to become proficient with their weapons of choice.

Will players eventually gain affinity, or weapons handling expertise from using their favorite weapons?

COD is more of an arcade style shooter, with a gun n' run type game play. This allows for nearly haphazard, reactionary game-play; with no real tactics. COD often comes down to who has the best fit equipment, or similar kill gag.

After playing Interstellar Marines you will immediately realize the differences. Unlike in COD where gun battles last mere seconds, intense gun battles often ensue during IM matches (this is because re-spawns, revives, and lives in general take on greater value). Despite it's current simplicity, IM has far greater depth of game play than any other shooter I've ever played. There are so many nuances and gun play aspects that are not only realistic, but necessary.

Whereas COD is rapid, and sporadic - Interstellar Marines is methodical, and tactical. Just like Hicks said, if you are looking for an immerse experience, FPS Interstellar Marines is for you - casual and hardcore players alike.

Yea, this game is a tactic shooter through and through. You can run and gun, but it is mostly detrimental...
