Do you have any idea about relative purchasing power? Earning $2,000 a month in Korea goes a lot further than $2,000 in the States.

You don't need to be a native speaker to teach English. I have numerous Polish, Russian, Swedish, French friends etc working part time gigs for $25 an hour. You can't get the E2 visa but it doesn't matter. If someone gets themselves to Korea on any visa then you can find work.
