I mean, I guess the point of being employed as a receptionist there is to have the flexibility to work from home with irregular hours. It's not a way for a single person to have a livable wage on their own, it should be seen like supplementing the salary of the primary household earner (or part of house-sharing with roommates).

I do appreciate the effort of negating the common "offshore customer service" trend in tech, and bringing jobs back in-country... but someone in CA who is unemployed can make more going to work at McDonalds. What might be better is offering receptionists "minimum hourly rate of XX dollars over your state's minimum wage" or something similar. That way it's much more transparent to job seekers what they're getting into.

On a serious note, you sound like a cool boss, I like your directness and sense of humor. You do use some buzzwords, but I understand what those mean from a business perspective and how it translates down to individual employees. I get the feeling transparency is important to you, and that's a really great trait to have in a leader.

It's a shame the only listings you have right now are for receptionists. I'm a hard-working jack-of-all-trades support rep in the tech industry, and even local in the bay, but phone work is absolutely abhorrent to me. Do you ever hire for direct company support in other positions? The only thing I see on your Careers page are receptionists, which I presume are contractors for your clients instead of in-house.

Could I hire you to answer 1-2 specific caller numbers for me, and just let the rest forward through like normal?

It's worth $4-$6/call to have someone else talk to my mom. I can even provide a script.
