Heat-sensitive thermoplastic. Wonderflex used to be the thing but Worbla is able to be molded and rolled out like clay again and again so you get more intricate details and don't waste scraps. Its magical.

She's not wrong, it's just not the only reason. There's definitely statical evidence that women consistently are taken less seriously than men when complaining about pain or illness, and that we take more years on average to have a rare disease diagnosed.

A big problem is definitely how rare diseases are tackled in medical school. Glossing over them and telling people they won't see them results in massive undersiagnoses because doctors think "when you hear hoofbeats" and completely discount the patient even if they themselves are medically trained and bring in research indicating how all the signs fit and "do you think there's even a chance, can we run these tests/you refer me to this kind of doctor".

One thing you yourself can do is help to introduce him to social media, important ways to tell fact from fiction and how to research (tell him about Snopes if he doesn't know). When my friend got out, the learning curve was so high. We were all there for him to introduce him to things but we've all been so immersed in it for so long we overlooked a lot about understanding internet culture, not just how to use the tech.
