Yeah, I had a friend who went by Joe. I knew his Chinese name was Yao, but his family immigrated when he was very young, so he thought of himself as "Joe." After we'd known each other for several years, he realized that he'd prefer to be called "Yao." He made new friends, who had only known him as Yao, and they'd shoot me death glares when I accidentally said "Joe."

I used to watch rape fantasy porn. FYI, I'm a woman, and I definitely go for the porn where it's obvious that it's fake. I'm not looking for something realistic; it's a fantasy to me.

The scary thing was that after this whole Ariel Castro thing got into the media, there was a sudden flood of people making comments on the videos I watched like "I wish I could have my own teen slaves like Ariel Castro" and "If I were Castro I could do this to any girl I wanted," etc.

It was just so nauseating. I wanted to believe they were trolls, but I'd never seen a lot of trolling on porn sites before. And even if some were, even if the majority were, you know there's still that percentage that is genuine. And that's scary as hell. I seriously haven't been able to visit porn sites since.

I genuinely don't understand shortening a protection order, especially for someone in a different town. Are there any potential downsides to it?

Like, if you were in the same town, I could see how he might have to limit his activity in some way to avoid accidentally running into you. But how likely is that in a different town?

Not that it always matters. My niece had a restraining order against her father and his family, but they still harassed and stalked her. It went back to the judge at least half a dozen times, and each time they would say, "It's a small town, it was totally an accident," and the judge would just give them a warning.

And I would have thought a normal person who accidentally ran into someone who had a restraining order against them would immediately leave. But her father and his family would call her names and deliberately interact with her in other ways. Her uncle showed up at her babysitter's house, tried to entice her into his car, and then screamed "That's why your father had to beat you, you don't fucking listen!" when she ran into the house (when she was 8 her father beat her so badly she had to be hospitalized, hence the restraining order). Yeah, that was totally an accident, right? Still got off with a warning despite adult and child witnesses.

Sorry, that was a bit of rant, it just pisses me off.

There are other men with other houses. It's definitely rare but this is far from the first case like this. The Fritzl case is one of the most horrifying because the man kidnapped and raped his own daughter. The Colleen Stan case is pretty scary, considering his wife was complicit in the kidnapping.
