February? Yeesh, you really did want the "Canadian" experience, didn't you? :-) I've always just assumed that the US regularly spied on Canada, the UK, France, and other "allies". Not for the same reasons or with the same objectives, perhaps, but there is covert activity in countries around the world--and it goes both ways. I think Americans would probably be shocked to learn what British, French, or Israeli intelligence get up to in the United States.

I hope you can do a live Gabfest from here sometime soon. :-) What are your thoughts on Snowden's revelations about US intelligence agencies easvedropping on "friendly" countries, such as those of the EU? Personally, I'm surprised that anyone is surprised!
