Hi, I loved The Reward, it was amazingly inspirational! I hope the Kickstarter works out as well, I'll be donating to it soon, I promise!

In terms of writing the story, I was wondering how you'd plotted it out; after an initial idea did you get down to working on a script, did you try and do rough storyboards first and how late in the whole process did you change the story? I'm slowly working on my own final animation project and the story just doesn't seem to come together, so I'd love to hear your thoughts on that part of the whole process.

As for a drawing, would it be possible to have Vito and Wilhelm running away from a tiny dragon? At some point they must have been scared of something before realising it wouldn't hurt them!

Hi Mike,

First of all, thank you for Hellboy and B.P.R.D. - they’re two of my absolute favourite comic book series and have given me hours of enjoyment (and heart-break). Oh and The Amazing Screw on Head is the best collection of stories anywhere, in any medium or format.

Something I was wondering, was whether you actually write a full script for stories you’ll be drawing yourself, or whether you get right down to page layout (or something else) and whether it’s difficult to switch between doing something relatively “alone” Like Hellboy in Hell (apart from Dave Stewart providing the colours) and working with another artist (and writer) like on B.P.R.D. or Lobster Johnson, etc.?

Also, foreshadowing (and variations thereof) seem to be very important (Gruagach being the main one, but Gamori and Giancarlo also spring to mind - I’m sure ether are other elements and characters that don’t start with G who are important…) I was wondering whether you’ve just written a character or a situation that several years later you find yourself thinking of using again, or whether you try to lay down the elements purposefully to expand upon them later.

Thank you for your time and your amazing creative output! Cheers.
