From my experience, California allows CANNED alcoholic beverages in rafts but specifically prohibits glass bottles. The river police in my area can and will search your raft. They don't give a shit about canned beer or a little weed, but god help you if you have a glass bottle on the river.

From the outside, this argument seems weird. For example, my vision is bad enough that I am unable to see written language without glasses. I have had this problem since birth. My parents didn't teach me braille, because my problem was correctable thanks to modern technology and prosthetics (thick glasses and thankfully now contact lenses.) My parents depriving me of glasses and insisting on me learning braille instead would seem cruel, right? If my child was born with hearing problems but it was correctable with CI wouldn't it seem cruel to refuse to try the implants and insist they learn ASL instead?

OP, you're not alone! My sister and I both gave blood to the Red Cross at a blood drive back in high school and were hounded on a daily basis by the Red Cross for several years afterward. The calls would stop for several months, and then start up again. Sometimes I would get called 4 times in one day. They told me that they were in desperate need of my blood type and that the phone calls were activated each time the supply of that type went low. Of course that made me feel like a douche, but I had moved 300 miles away and couldn't help. I spoke to several very nice people who agreed to take me off the list because I had moved. Each time I ended up back on their call list. If I recall correctly it only stopped after I changed my cell phone number. :(

That's why I believe it's really him. A PR person would come up with way better answers and would be familiar with reddit.

That's kind of a sad thought. Is there any effort in China to find a better system for this? Like if the parents don't come forward in a few years the kids can be adopted?
