Also had another question.

What do you think of non-black groups co-opting conversations on racism while also being terribly guilty of both anti-black racism and colorism, and intraethic racism and colorism against their own ethnic group for having black adjacent features.

An example would be the general (and shitty) response asian people have had to deal with in terms of COVID-19 a few years ago, and the unbelievable number of times I've heard from a lot of asian americans that "they never knew racism was an issue in America"... until they had to personally experience it... in 2019-2022.

The usual "(insert non-white group here) are the REAL racists!" (proceeds to list behavior that white folks are predominantly guilty of).

"Once time in my (anecdotal) experience I had a bad experience once with a (insert non-white group here, again usually black) and that proves that they're the real racists!"

"MY parents always taught me to (insert useless pandering habit that somehow completely dispells the posibility of being racist"

"It was a different time"

"There were irish slaves too!"

"It happened a long time ago"

"it's not race it's class!!!" because you know, rich black people don't ever get called the n-word.

Just essentially a bunch of interesting ways to word "but what about the white people!". I wish I could be more specific but when I see the responses I kind of go blank and just keep scrolling.

In my humble non-expert opinion, essentially a bunch of subterfuge to reassign blame to any other group. From my personal opinion it really seems like a lack of ability to accept personal responsibility or relationship to a (the) problem. It seems to me like this need to be a good person, and in order to do so, instead of actually doing the hard work to be a better person, trying to spin things in order to make everyone else seem just as guilty (and therefore) just as responsible as they are. Essentially trying to accomplish the goal of "if we're all bad, then that means none of us are bad and we can all just forget about all that stuff in the past... except my bank account, my bank account should remember everything because I still need to make a payment on my corvette regardless of where that money comes from."

I've noticed a trend, particularly on reddit where a lot of white folks will essentially try to make themselves out to be victims of the racist system that is perpetuated today. They essentially say that every other group is a worse perpetuator of racism than they are.

What are your feelings on this? Does statistical analysis support this?

Also, I notice how a lot of white folks on reddit and the internet in general seem to be experts on racism, but only when trying to chastise or discredit a person of color (usually a black person's) experience with racism. What are your thoughts on that as well? Especially in consideration of how all of these folks always seem to have parents that "taught them to not see race or color"
