Thank you very much for the reply, Mike. We try to keep him stimulated as much as we can but he does seem to sleep through a lot of things so it has gotten difficult, at times with him becoming a bit lethargic and unresponsive. Fortunately, we have enough family and family friends so he is always taken care of and never the only one in the house. At times he's alert but when he had an aneurysm, and coded blue 3 times 10 years ago, he became how he is now. But at times, I do see the 'old' him in his eyes, and occasionally he's got a funny thing to say so we know somewhere deep down is still the great man and father we know and love. But I wouldn't want to tire or pester you, so please have a wonderful night and I wish you all the best, Mike. I highly appreciate the reply. Rock on; ID157

Hi, Mike. I've been helping take care of my grandfather for the last 10 years and although I know it's different for everyone, I really often get a bit down when I think about how long its been since he had a conversation, drove, got up and walked outside, things like that and I really do wonder sometimes if he's aware of how long it has been. For you, do you ever have moments where you can (excuse the poor choice of words, please) feel yourself "slipping" away, bit by bit? Best wishes to you, Mike.
