Well, in The Brothers K the last scene is when Alyosha is telling the neighborhood boys who have just lost their friend that it is OK to go eat pancakes--to enjoy life while you are grieving.
Chesterton brings up the term "mooreeffoc" which he coined when he saw a sign for a coffee room through the wrong side of the glass. It's a way of looking at something ordinary from a totally new perspective.
I don't know if I can explain it thoroughly, but just that fact that something as simple as pancakes can have such spiritual significance, that Hellboy was 'redeemed' if you will by simply enjoying life.
That may not make sense, but I don't want a wall-o-text here :-) Hope that suffices.

Read a chapter, then read Cliffs/Spark notes to make sure you caught everything. That's what I had to do my first time through.
One of the hardest and best books I have ever read.

Hi Mike,
The short strip "Pancakes" has to be one of the most theologically profound moments I've seen in a mainstream comic. It hints of the last bit of The Brothers Karamozov with a dash of Chesterton thrown in. What was the inspiration for that?
Edit for the link.
