My Russian professor told my class that only tourists take the Trans-Siberian, because Russians prefer the plane. Did you meet any Russian passengers on the train?

Yes, because the Cuban Missile Crisis lasted 13 days and pretty much drove détente afterwards, whereas we are in the process of losing arms control agreements (INF treaty's gone, and the US may not renew New Start). Also the Bulletin included climate change as a threat to humanity and that further changes the calculus.

No, not nothing.

Laws pass through the Commission - whose members are appointed by the people you elect in your country and the European Parliament - whose members you directly elect.

Let's stop pretending that the EU is undemocratic and that you can't do anything as a citizen. Lobbying happens in your local and national parliament too.

You can write to your EU and/or local representatives, start an interest group to change the future law, join one interest group, vote/withdraw your vote, or protest. You live in a democracy, buddy.

You seem hell-bent on responding to each comment with abrasive comments. It's quite clear that arms control treaties and climate agreements are steps in the right direction to reduce these threats, but somehow that drives you angrier. What's up with that?
