I definitely hear you on this one. I have a few friends, myself included, who absolutely despise small talk. I could write down my own thoughts on this, but I think it's better to pass it on to a guy who says it better and much more eloquently than I ever could:

I would say: Just have that desire to reach out to people. You don't have to get laid tomorrow, but rather, just have that genuine interest in women. If you're like a lot of people that I know, you'll find that many are boring as fuck. But in the off chance that you get pleasantly surprised...
