Americans will comply with the law

Lol then why do you need to take their guns? Or are they not complying with the laws now?

It’s a gun safety thing. They use the word negligent instead of accident, because if you follow the laws of gun safety, it’s impossible to shoot someone by accident. This dude couldn’t have been shot by his friend if the gun had never been point in his direction.

1. Treat all guns as if they were loaded
2. Never let the barrel point at anything you don’t want to destroy
3. Keep your finger off the trigger until you’re ready to shoot
4. Be sure of your target and what’s behind it

This dude had to break these rules to shoot his friend in the wrist.

It’s a bit of semantics... because obviously the guy didn’t shoot his friends wrist on purpose. But guns don’t just go off unless something is mechanically wrong with them. And even if something is mechanically wrong with them, you still can’t mistakenly shoot your buddy if you follow rule 2.
