Given how iconic that Suicide Mission track was to the second game in the series, I was really surprised that the leitmotif didn't show up anywhere in ME3. There were all these throwbacks to the previous two games in there, even musically, but nothing about the Suicide Mission that I noticed. Did I just miss it? If not, why is it so conspicuously absent?

It's happening all over. In what’s called “tier 2” cities. People can’t afford to keep paying New York, Boston, or DC prices and move down to places like Raleigh, Nashville, Charlotte, Cleveland, etc. where rent is more reasonable but they still have an urban core with craft breweries, home-goods stores, kombucha, and pretentious coffee joints. (I kid. . . but only a little.)
They can take the skills and contacts they pick up in those, more dynamic, cities and get decent jobs in these new cities, but since they’re coming from crazy expensive places there is a bit of a reverse sticker-shock (i.e. I can get HOW MUCH house for that!?) and they wind up driving the real estate prices up a bit for everyone else.

FYI, the Game of Thrones fandom has already cast you as Victarion Greyjoy in our minds.
