Edit: Niall Ferguson appears to switch from objective observation to subjective anthropocentric observations masquerading as objective observations as if there is no discretion between the two, which there is.

This is a disservice to non-sophisticated casual readers, a boon for Ferguson and his worldview cohorts, and a deep affront to historical Chinese and Indian interests in this case, or in other cases any group Ferguson can place himself and his own historical interests above, however sneakily he tries to embed them into ostensibly objective and scientific historical observation.

These implored strategies are incredibly distasteful in their arrogance and self-servingness, and I can now still see the problem with his work more pure intellectuals have voiced about his output.

I don't think I should have to explain why it's funny to someone doing a dissertation in orbital mechanics.
