Thanks. I didn't fully appreciate at the time how impressive my brother's accomplishments were, but he remains my inspiration.
Incidentally, I have a 10 year old son of my own now, and I've also come to realize how great my parents' sacrifices were on behalf of my brother. Don't know if there's anything I can offer in the way of sagely wisdom, but feel free to DM if you'd like.

What's the most surprising dish that's enhanced by a good hot sauce? Something most people wouldn't think to top with it?

Have you traveled to your family's home country before? Are you able to travel there now without fear of being refused re-entry? Do you keep in touch with family/people there?

Have you offered to meet with Rep. Omar or Rep. Tlaib to help them understand the historic connotation of some of their comments?

My older brother had Duchenne's. The treatments he received in the 1980's and 1990's probably pale in comparison with what is available now. He was, and remains, a tremendous influence on me, and I think of him daily.
One of the things that helped him persevere was setting goals. He completed a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering (not the easiest field of study for someone with limited mobility), was active in his fraternity, and worked in an office after graduation.
My question for Toomee is, what's your next goal?
