What's your best tip for getting in?

Hey guys, thanks very much for doing an AMA! Any advice for a 17 year old who had never had a job for getting their first?

Ive been advised to when handing resumes in to ask to speak to a manager, thoughts on that?

And is it advisable to put community service experience on a resume if I have no prior experience?
